Summer’s in Phoenix, AZ consist mostly of swimming for us. So I knew I had to find a underwater film camera to capture it. Unfortunately the first roll I shot didn’t come out at all. With the second roll I only got these 4 images that came out clear out of 36 shots! But I am happy I was able to capture these images at least. Soon our swim sessions will be over for the year, and even though I long for the days I don’t sweat up a storm, (because I’m 32 weeks pregnant in the phoenix heat) I enjoyed every second I got to swim with him. Now go check out the amazing Kristin Anderson! http://www.kristin-anderson.com/september-2015-one-kid-one-roll
Oh Lynette! I love every single one of these! I know your keeper rate wasn’t where you wanted, but the ones you did get are pure gold! (Oh, and a long time ago I was very pregnant in August, so I can totally relate to what you’re feeling now!) We’ll get the hang of this darn camera, but I feel totally in love with what you do have here! 🙂
The process. Gosh, the process with film can be rough. Can’t it? But the payoff when we get it right..THIS. It makes it all worth it. The story told in these 4 simple and beautiful images is exactly what we as mamas want the summers of our kids’ youth to look like. I’m so happy you stuck with it and that you shared your victory! And just think…next summer you will have two gorgeous littles to photograph in the water. Yay!
These are awesome!!! What kind of underwater camera did you use? They are clear and beautiful and just so fun.
these 5 images are absolutely wonderful!!! Congrats on the pregnancy, cannot wait to see your little one before the end of the year! xxx, Léa
These are fabulous! I am curious about the camera you used, too– would love to try film underwater!
